Employee Benefits Account Manager (Remote)

Position Description

Your role includes but is not limited to:

We are a very established insurance and benefits brokerage firm based in the Peninsula with clients throughout California. For over 30 years, we have offered customized solutions and we are now looking to add another Account Manager to our team.


You will have the resources of a big agency while having the freedom of a boutique agency.


We provide employee benefits solutions for small to medium sized businesses, typically those with 2 to 250 employees. You will support a portfolio of clients, investing the majority of your time in customer service, acting as the face of our company to your clients. The role covers everything from open enrollment to claims to billing, and you can expect to be communicating via phone and email for much of your day. You will handle a large, busy portfolio, but you won't have to sell or market renewals, giving you plenty of time to provide outstanding service.


This is a remote position.

  • Provide understanding and guidance as clients navigate their employee benefit needs and handle issues.
  • Manage ongoing client service relationships for your assigned portfolio
  • Maintain open and clear communication channels with clients, producers and internal partners
  • Communicate due dates, timelines and expectations to clients and partners
  • Identify problems and develop strategic solutions
  • Help administer renewals, including preparing appropriate contractual changes
  • Conduct employee meetings/presentations
  • Develop employee memorandum drafts for clients to communicate annual renewal changes, enrollment procedures, miscellaneous benefit changes and/or clarifications, and more
  • Develop and maintain excellent carrier relationships


Position Requirements:

  • 2+ years of successful employee benefits account management experience on the broker side
  • A California State Life & Health Insurance License
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Knowledge/understanding of insurance & the insurance industry
  • The drive, desire and ability to take ownership of your accounts and build long-term relationships with your clients
  • The ability to remain current with industry changes and regulations
